Seongnam City's marriage promotion policy, "Solomon's Choice," was reported by the British public broadcaster BBC.
On the 23rd, BBC News highlighted Solomon's Choice as part of efforts to address the declining marriage and birth rates.
This report was delivered through various BBC platforms, including TV, digital video, and radio.
The related content was also released on the BBC News YouTube channel and in various language services such as Korean, Chinese, and Thai.
Through this report, the BBC addressed the population decline issue faced by Korean society, centered around the seventh event held by Seongnam City last month.
The seventh event held in Pangyo featured various programs such as dating coaching, one-on-one conversations, and group games with 100 young participants in their 20s and 30s.
Through participant interviews, the BBC also highlighted the reality that young people in modern society lack opportunities to meet new people due to busy daily lives.
Mayor Shin Sang-jin, in an interview with the BBC, said, "It is important to provide a venue for young people to naturally interact, as existing policies to increase the birth rate have not yielded sufficient results," and noted plans to continually expand such events.
"Solomon's Choice" has previously been highlighted multiple times in international media.
The U.S. New York Times, Singapore Straits Times, Britain's Reuters, U.S. Boston Globe, and U.S. Bloomberg have all covered it as major articles.
