The 'National University Students' Emergency Council for the Resignation of Yoon Suk-yeol,' launched by students from over 30 universities nationwide, sent registered mail to the presidential residence from the Yongsan-gu Hannam-dong post office in Seoul on the 23rd.

The registered mail contained 500 Christmas cards written by university students. On the envelope containing the 500 cards, it was written, 'Mr. President~ the university students have handwritten letters for you. Have a happy year-end♡'

The registered mail reportedly arrived on Christmas Eve, the 24th. The Emergency Council shared a postal notification that said, 'The registered mail sent to Mr. Yoon Suk-yeol at the presidential residence was delivered to colleague Kim Jeong-hwan on Dec. 24, 2024.' The person who received the registered mail is presumed to be Kim Jeong-hwan, the Deputy Minister of the presidential office.

However, contrary to the warm message on the envelope, the 500 letters contained harsh criticism of President Yoon.

They wrote messages such as, 'You cannot undermine democracy,' 'Let everyone breathe fully and willingly,' and 'Yoon Suk-yeol, pay for your sins and go to jail.'

A university student wrote in the letter, 'You seem to be doing well according to the news, but why is that?' adding, 'You will lose everything overnight. The residence, power, supporters, and honor all belong to the people, the rightful owners.'

The student continued, 'No matter what or until when you refuse, we will keep demanding the dismissal of Yoon Suk-yeol, the approval of Yoon Suk-yeol's impeachment, and reforms for a better world.'

Meanwhile, the Emergency Council sent these cards to criticize President Yoon for refusing to accept a total of seven documents, including the Constitutional Court's notice of impeachment trial acceptance and appearance request, as well as a police appearance request, while accepting wreaths and gifts from supporters without issue.

The Emergency Council emphasized, 'We hope President Yoon will stop his tricks to delay investigations and trials.'
