Seoul 50 Plus Foundation, an affiliate of the Seoul city, announced on the 23rd that 2,132 middle-aged individuals found new jobs this year. The foundation supports career planning, vocational education, employment, and entrepreneurship for those aged 40 to 64 who are preparing for the second act of their life after retirement.

According to the foundation, the total number of middle-aged participants in the job programs this year was 10,109. This figure includes visitors to the middle-age job fair. Among them, 2,134 individuals secured new employment.

Among the job seekers who participated in internships and recruitment briefings, 5,503 people found jobs with 1,974 individuals being successful. Notably, in the 40s and 50s internship programs, 216 out of 418 participants gained employment. Choi, 52, noted, “Through internships and job training, I experienced planning travel products, promotion, and interpreting for foreign tourists, eventually landing a job at related corporations.”

Kang Myung, head of the Seoul 50 Plus Foundation, said, “We will cooperate with corporations experiencing recruitment difficulties in this era of demographic cliff,” adding, “We will ensure that middle-aged job seekers can find new opportunities across various industrial fields.”
