The National Archives and the Presidential Archives announced on the 23rd that they did not find any irregularities during on-site inspections of agencies related to the Dec. 3 martial law.

The on-site inspections were conducted from the 12th to the 20th of this month, targeting a total of 18 agencies. The targeted agencies include the Presidential Office, Ministry of the Interior and Safety, Korean National Police Agency, Ministry of National Defense, Counterintelligence Command, Capital Defense Command, and the Special Warfare Command.

The National Archives and the Presidential Archives noted that the targeted agencies cooperated by allowing access and participating in the search of records lists during the inspection process.

Specifically, the National Archives sent an official letter requesting cooperation in records management to related agencies on Dec. 6 and confirmed whether it was shared with all departments within the agencies. It also verified the production and registration records of two to three major departments per agency and requested records lists from all departments of the inspected agencies.

The Presidential Archives completed on-site confirmation of related details by the guidance and inspection team in accordance with the Presidential Records Act.
