Prosecutors investigating the Dec. 3 martial law incident recently conducted a confidential investigation of National Intelligence Service Director Cho Tae-yong, it was revealed on the 22nd.

According to the legal community, the prosecution's special investigation team on martial law recently summoned Director Cho as a witness for questioning. Director Cho is not a Cabinet member, but was present at the Cabinet meeting convened by President Yoon Suk Yeol before the martial law declaration on the 3rd.

Prosecutors have recently summoned several attendees of Cabinet meetings held before and after the declaration of martial law, including Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Strategy and Finance Choi Sang-mok and Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Park Sang-woo, to reconstruct the events of that day.
