A man in his 50s has been arrested by police on suspicion of murdering a man in his 40s in Gangseo-gu, Seoul, in the middle of the night.

The Gangseo Police Station in Seoul announced on the 19th that they have urgently arrested a man in his 50s, identified as A, on charges of murder. A is accused of killing a man in his 40s, identified as B, with a weapon at around 1 a.m. in a dwelling in Hwagok-dong, Gangseo-gu, Seoul.

Police urgently arrested A at around 3:37 a.m. at a friend's house after fleeing the crime scene. At the time of arrest, A was intoxicated.

B's teenage child, who was inside the house during the crime, was also injured by A and is currently receiving treatment at a hospital.

A police official noted, “We are investigating the motive for the crime and the relationship with the victim.”
