The Federation of Korean Trade Unions (FKTU) and the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions (KCTU) expressed their position on the 19th, welcoming the Supreme Court's ruling to expand the scope of ordinary wages, calling it "a desirable ruling."

The Federation of Korean Trade Unions issued a commentary on this day, stating, "We welcome the Supreme Court's ruling that ended interpretive controversy by abolishing the 'fixed nature' requirement not stipulated in the legal text." It added, "The National Assembly should amend related laws regarding the definition and criteria of ordinary wages in line with this Supreme Court precedent." It also said, "The government should also begin revising related laws and changing administrative interpretations."

The Korean Confederation of Trade Unions, through spokesperson Jeon Ho-il, noted, "This is a desirable ruling that corrects the reality of complexity and confusion regarding ordinary wages," and revealed that "(over the past) there has been much confusion due to not including bonuses in ordinary wages for reasons such as being an employee, even though they are effectively fixed bonuses."
