The Korea Meteorological Administration forecasted rain or snow primarily along the east coast from the afternoon of the 18th. The Jeolla region and Jeju also expect rain and snow until the afternoon of the same day. The cold weather is expected to continue until the next day.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, the weather was generally clear nationwide as relatively cold air was introduced along the edge of high pressure located in northern China overnight. However, due to this influence, a precipitation area developed over the West Sea, resulting in rain and snow in some areas, mainly in the Jeolla region and Jeju. The east coast will be affected by the high pressure expanding over the northern East Sea from the afternoon of the same day. As a result, easterly winds will bring rain or snow.
The Korea Meteorological Administration advised caution on icy roads and road surfaces with thin ice.
The expected snowfall from the day to the 19th is 10-20 cm for Ulleungdo and Dokdo, 3-10 cm for the northern east coast of North Gyeongsang Province, and 1-5 cm for the southern east coast of North Gyeongsang Province. Additionally, the southern east coast and mountainous areas of Gangwon are forecasted to receive 3-10 cm of snow, while 1-5 cm is expected for the central and northern east coast of Gangwon.
