The police conducted an investigation on seven members of the cabinet who attended a cabinet meeting before the declaration of martial law.

The special investigation team of the Korean National Police Agency's National Investigation Headquarters announced on the 16th that they investigated seven out of 11 members of the cabinet who attended a cabinet meeting before the declaration of martial law. Park Seong-jae, Minister of Justice, Cho Gyu-hong, Minister of Health and Welfare, and Song Mi-ryeong, Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, are known to have been investigated as references so far.

It is said that there has been no investigation yet into acting president, Prime Minister Han Deok-soo, former Minister of National Defense Kim Yong-hyeon, and former Minister of the Interior and Safety Lee Sang-min, who have been reported as suspects.

According to the special investigation team, the joint investigation headquarters (Gong-jobon), which is investigating the Dec. 3 martial law incident, will notify President Yoon Seok-youl to appear at the Government Complex Gwacheon office of the Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials by 10 a.m. on the 18th. Gong-jobon is a consultative body composed of the Korean National Police Agency's National Investigation Headquarters, the Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials, and the Ministry of National Defense's Investigation Headquarters. It is reported that the summons request written under the name of a Corruption Investigation Office prosecutor specifies charges against President Yoon, including head of insurrection and abuse of power.
