On the afternoon of the 14th, ahead of the National Assembly's plenary session vote on the second impeachment motion against President Yoon Seok-yeol, citizens gathering in front of the National Assembly in Yeouido, Seoul, called for the approval of the impeachment motion. Citizens opposing the impeachment gathered around Gwanghwamun. Both sides are seeing more citizens gathered compared to the first impeachment motion vote a week ago.

The 'Emergency Action for Yoon Seok-yeol's Immediate Resignation and Social Reformation' (hereafter referred to as Emergency Action) held a rally to urge for President Yoon's impeachment in front of the National Assembly at 3 p.m. Prior to this, the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions held a pre-rally from 2 p.m., and the Cargo Solidarity held one from 1 p.m. in the Yeouidaero area.

In Yeouido, more ordinary citizens holding various cheering sticks are gathering more quickly than on the 7th, outnumbering the union members. Participants in the pre-rally hosted by Emergency Action at 2 p.m. in front of the National Assembly occupied both lanes of the street opposite the National Assembly building, chanting slogans like "Impeach Yoon Seok-yeol "Approve the impeachment motion" "The people will surely win."

Citizens wanting to participate in the impeachment rally converged on Seoul Subway Line 9. Around 1:20 p.m., the express train bound for Gimpo Airport on Line 9 was packed with passengers starting from Dongjak Station, and there were loud exchanges due to overcrowding at Noryangjin Station. Seoul City arranged for Line 9 to run 64 more times that day.

Kim Gwi-ja (69), met at the rally site, said, "If the impeachment motion is rejected today, I won't go home and will wave a candle in front of the National Assembly all night long," adding, "I wish I could block the lawmakers from going home throughout the weekend." Choi Min-seok (43) said, "I voted for President Yoon Seok-yeol in the last presidential election, but I truly regret it," noting, "I came out to take responsibility for casting the wrong vote."

Members of conservative groups such as the Liberty Unification Party and the National Movement for Establishing Korea shout slogans at a rally against President Yoon's impeachment held along Sejong-daero in Seoul on the 14th, ahead of the National Assembly's vote on the impeachment motion against President Yoon Suk-yeol. /Courtesy of News1

A conservative group rally opposing President Yoon's impeachment was held around Gwanghwamun. Approximately 600 meters from the front of Dongwha Duty Free Shop to the front of Deoksugung's Daehanmun are blocked on both lanes of Sejong-daero. Protesters also filled up towards Sungnyemun. In the Sejong-daero section from Daehanmun to Sungnyemun, all lanes are blocked, with only four right lanes operating as variable lanes.

Participants in the rally opposing President Yoon's impeachment held placards reading "Eradicate pro-North Juche faction against impeachment" "Arrest Lee Jae-myung." They chanted "Arrest Lee Jae-myung" and "Oppose impeachment" to the repetitive sound of drums.
