The identities of male students who mocked female high school students critical of the Dec. 3 emergency martial law situation have been identified.
According to the Incheon Office of Education on the 13th, the education authorities identified six male students from two high schools who posted inappropriate comments, such as evaluating the appearance of students from Incheon Female High School.
Previously, the 116th student council of Incheon Female High School issued a statement on the current situation, saying, "We learned that protecting democracy and ensuring the rights of the people are the foremost duties of the president as the head of the executive branch."
They further criticized, "We reject a president who does not fulfill such duties, who blocks the media and the National Assembly with power and force."
Subsequently, some netizens left sexually harassing comments, such as evaluating the appearance of students who liked the post containing the statement. The education authorities identified six individuals, including a student referred to as A, who wrote the problematic comments.
The city office of education plans to assign dedicated school violence investigators to conduct further investigations as soon as the exam period for the affected students ends.
