The Ministry of the Interior and Safety announced on the 11th that during this year's fall disaster safety focus reporting period from September to November, 40,948 reports were received through the Safe Reporting System. This is a 36.8% increase compared to the same period last year (29,939 reports).
By category of reports, the flood and typhoon sector had the most with 16,194 cases (39.5%). This was followed by forest fires and fires (13,949 cases, 34.1%), children's safety (9,993 cases, 24.4%), festivals and crowded events (465 cases, 1.1%), and electric vehicle charging zones (347 cases, 0.8%).
The Safe Reporting System is a platform where anyone can report disaster and safety hazards by capturing photos or videos. It can be accessed through a smartphone application or online.
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety selects excellent reporting cases that have a significant impact on preventing disasters and safety accidents and awards prizes ranging from 200,000 won to 1 million won.
