In Bali, Indonesia, two people, including a South Korean tourist, died after a tree fell due to strong winds.

According to local media on the 11th (local time), a large banyan tree toppled onto tourists due to strong winds at Ubud's famous tourist spot, the Monkey Forest.

In the accident, a 42-year-old South Korean woman and a 32-year-old French woman died. A 43-year-old South Korean woman was taken to the hospital for treatment.

On social networking services (SNS), a video presumed to be from the time of the accident was circulated. The video showed a large tree falling toward people, some of whom screamed and tried to escape.

Local media pointed out that trees with weakened roots during the rainy season should have been removed in advance. They also warned of floods and landslides as the rainy season was setting in.

Ubud's police are cooperating with the South Korean and French consulates to inform the victims' families about the accident. The family of the South Korean deceased has been informed and is expected to discuss funeral arrangements upon arrival in Bali.
