Korea AbbVie and Korea Boehringer Ingelheim received a commendation from the Minister of the Ministry of Health and Welfare. They were recognized for contributing to joint bio research and technology cooperation.
According to the two corporations on the 10th, the previous day the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Korea Health Industry Development Institute (KHIDI) presented the awards at the "Biohealth Global Open Innovation Week." Korea AbbVie, together with the Korea Health Industry Development Institute (KHIDI), supports domestic corporations' overseas expansion. At the Bio Tech Awards, it selects a final two corporations out of 80 corporations and provides prize money and research and development consulting.
Korea Boehringer Ingelheim leads external partnerships through its business development and licensing (BD&L) organization. It promotes discovery of new drug candidates, joint research, and technology transfer, and is running 80 related projects. Han Jeong-hyeon, executive director of business development and licensing, received a commendation in recognition of these contributions.
Chief Executive Officer Kang So-young of Korea AbbVie said, "We will create opportunities for collaboration with the government, corporations, and research institutes." President Anna Maria Voe of Korea Boehringer Ingelheim said, "We will put patient-centered innovation into practice."
