Chaum, the Cha Hospital Group's premium health screening center, will join hands with LG CNS and Cha Health Care to build an "intelligent health screening center" using artificial intelligence (AI).
It is a system in which AI integrates and analyzes customers' past screening results, health histories, and medical staff recommendations to provide customized support from screening to follow-up care.
Chaum said on the 9th that it recently held a kickoff briefing for the introduction of an intelligent screening center at Chaum in Cheongdam, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, with LG CNS and Cha Health Care. The event was attended by Chaum Director Kim Jae-hwa, Cha Health Care Executive Director Lee Jun-young, and LG CNS Executive Director Bae Min of the finance and public projects division, among other key officials from the three companies.
The core of this project is to apply AI agents specialized for health screening tasks to actual screening sites. Chaum plans to strengthen personalized screening services by having AI analyze customers' health information and propose necessary tests.
Chaum Premium Screening Center has so far provided one-on-one personalized screening services based on customers' health histories, primary physicians' recommendations, and past consultation details. Going forward, AI will integrate and analyze information scattered across the customer relationship management system (CRM) and electronic medical records (EMR).
Based on customers' past screening results and medical staff recommendations, AI will propose necessary tests and the reasons for them. Counseling nurses will be able to provide in-depth consultations that reflect customers' health status and past histories based on the information organized by AI.
AI will also be used for pre- and post-screening management. Before screening, it will automatically generate checklists that reflect each customer's health status and precautions, and after screening, it will manage re-examinations and follow-up observation schedules at 3-, 6-, and 9-month intervals. The guidance function will also be strengthened so that customers with abnormal findings in screenings can smoothly transition to outpatient care or re-visit programs.
It will automate repetitive tasks that arise during screening center operations. AI will assist with writing consultation records and managing schedules after screenings to reduce the workload of medical staff and counseling personnel, allowing more time to be devoted to customer management.
Services for foreign customers will also be strengthened. Foreigners account for about 30% of Chaum's customers. Chaum plans to introduce AI-based real-time interpretation and translation services for them to lower language barriers during the process of explaining screening results.
Through this project, Chaum plans to build an intelligent screening system in which AI goes beyond merely assisting with screening tasks to support the entire process from screening to follow-up care based on customers' health data.
Chaum Director Kim Jae-hwa said, "This collaboration will add cutting-edge AI technology to the top-tier personalized medical services Chaum has pursued, serving as an opportunity to raise the quality of customer management," adding, "We will successfully establish an AI-based intelligent screening system and set a new standard for premium health screenings."
Bae Min, an executive director in LG CNS's finance and public projects division, said, "LG CNS has made AI not something that is 'shown' but something that is 'used every day' across various industries such as finance and manufacturing," adding, "We will apply the AX capabilities we have built up to medical settings to drive innovation in screening services and improve operational efficiency."
