Samsung Medison Co. said on the 7th it will unveil the premium obstetrics and gynecology ultrasound diagnostic device Hera Z10. It uses artificial intelligence (AI) technology to examine the health of pregnant patients and fetuses and improves resolution.
As the age of pregnancy is getting later worldwide, precise diagnosis is becoming more important. The company said its ultrasound diagnostic device can observe placenta accreta, as well as blood vessels in the uterus and umbilical cord. When clinicians perform an ultrasound, AI can distinguish the uterus, endometrium, and uterine fibroids and measure their size.
According to a joint study by Professors Giuseppe Rizzo and Daniele Di Mascio of Sapienza University of Rome in Italy, members of the World Association of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology, the device can shorten mid-pregnancy detailed ultrasound exam time by up to 52%.
A company official said, "Based on AI, we will meet the diverse needs of medical institutions."
