Dong-A ST(170900) will target the Asia-Pacific market with its wearable patient monitoring platform "HiCardi." It will supply products to six countries—Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, Taiwan, Australia and Singapore—and expand local sales.
Dong-A ST said on the 7th that it signed a supply agreement for HiCardi with Schiller Asia Pacific, a global medical device corporations.
Under the agreement, Dong-A ST will supply "HiCardi+" and "HiCardi+ H100" to Schiller. Schiller AP will handle distribution and sales in six countries.
Schiller AP is the Asia-Pacific subsidiary of Swiss medical device corporations Schiller AG. Schiller AG develops electrocardiographs, defibrillators and patient monitors and supplies them worldwide.
HiCardi is a wearable patient monitoring platform developed by the medical device company MEZOO(0088M0) and sold by Dong-A ST. Through a patch attached to the patient's body, clinicians can remotely check in real time multiple patients' vital signs such as electrocardiogram, heart rate, respiratory rate, skin temperature and blood oxygen saturation.
Dong-A ST has expanded use cases for HiCardi in the domestic market. It has been introduced at more than 800 hospitals nationwide, including use at 28 tertiary general hospitals and 86 general hospitals.
It is also expanding overseas. Last year, it signed an exclusive sales contract with Brazilian medical device company CARDIO WEB. Building on Brazil as a base to enter the Latin American market, the company has now broadened its sales network to the Asia-Pacific market with this agreement.
A Dong-A ST official said, "We have laid the groundwork to expand HiCardi's entry into overseas markets by leveraging Schiller's global medical device business experience and Asia-Pacific distribution network," and added, "We will proceed with country-by-country approvals and market entry without a hitch."
