Yuhan(000100) said on the 1st it signed a $95,424,000 (about 131.0744 billion won) supply contract for active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) with a global pharmaceutical company.
The contract amount is equivalent to 6.0% of last year's Yuhan consolidation basis sales (218.66 billion won). The contract period runs from today to May 31, 2028. However, the end date may change by mutual agreement between the two companies.
Yuhan said it did not disclose the company name or specific contract details at the request of the counterparty, a global pharmaceutical company. Citing protection of trade secrets, disclosure of the information has been deferred until May 31, 2028.
Yuhan is expanding API supply with a focus on global pharmaceutical companies. When Yuhan secures an order, its subsidiary Yuhan Chemical Inc. is structured to handle actual production.
As of May, it is known to have signed a total of four API supply contracts with U.S. big pharma Gilead. The cumulative contract size is about $270 million (about 360 billion won). In May, it also signed an API supply contract worth about 56 billion won with a biotech company.
