Celltrion(068270) said on the 25th that it launched high-dose OMLYCLO (ingredient name Omalizumab), a treatment for chronic spontaneous urticaria and allergic asthma, in major European countries including Germany, the United Kingdom, and France. At the end of last year, it released OMLYCLO 75 mg and 150 mg in Europe, and it has now added 300 mg to broaden the lineup.
Behind this is a strategy to further improve patient dosing convenience and boost results in winning European tenders.
Previously, some patients needed two injections with the 150 mg product to receive 300 mg, but with the 300 mg product, they can be dosed at once. It is also supplied in two forms, prefilled syringe (PFS) and auto-injector (AI), so that products can be selected according to patient condition and dosing environment. Through this, the strategy is to expand clinicians' treatment options and improve patient convenience.
The company also touted storage convenience as a competitive edge. OMLYCLO can be stored for up to two years under refrigerated conditions at 2–8℃, and for up to seven days at room temperature up to 25℃. The company said re-refrigeration is possible, meaning it can be returned to refrigeration after room-temperature storage.
Celltrion plans to leverage this product competitiveness to expand prescriptions and tender wins and continue its sales growth in Europe. The company also met with clinicians at major conferences, including the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI) in June, to highlight the product characteristics and competitiveness of OMLYCLO 300 mg.
Ha Tae-hoon, head of Celltrion's Europe division, said, "With the launch of OMLYCLO 300 mg, we can offer more convenient and diverse treatment options to patients and clinicians," and added, "Based on our broad product lineup, we will maintain an edge in major-country tender competitions and expand OMLYCLO's growth across Europe."
