Samjin Pharmaceutical(005500) said on the 24th that it recently held dementia partner training for executives and employees at its headquarters in Mapo-gu, Seoul. It conveyed ways to recognize dementia as an issue one may face in daily life and to communicate properly with people with dementia.
Samjin Pharmaceutical conducted partner training for certification as a "dementia-conquest leading corporations," which the Ministry of Health and Welfare's Central Dementia Center grants to dementia-friendly corporations. The training was organized by the Mapo-gu Dementia Safety Center. The company said it plans to build a dementia safety net in the local community in connection with the Dementia Safety Center.
The number of people with dementia in Korea is expected to exceed 1 million. Kim Sang-jin, president of Samjin Pharmaceutical, said, "Dementia is not a problem for a specific individual or household alone but a task the whole society must address," adding, "We will fulfill our social responsibility as a pharmaceutical corporations."
