Alteogen(196170) will invest 253.2 billion won to build its own biopharmaceutical production facility. It plans to produce in-house the drug substances (DS) and drug products (DP) of the hyaluronidase "ALT-B4" and the Eylea biosimilar "ALT-L9," which have so far been manufactured through domestic and overseas contract manufacturing organizations (CMO).
Alteogen said on Aug. 21 that its board of directors decided to build a new biopharmaceutical manufacturing plant in the Dungok District of Daejeon, and disclosed the decision. The investment amounts to 253.2 billion won, equivalent to 55.7% of equity capital of 454.4 billion won on a 2025 consolidation basis.
The investment period runs from that day through Sept. 30, 2028. The investment includes expenses for new plant construction and the establishment of facilities and machinery and equipment. However, the company said the investment amount and completion schedule may change depending on construction permits and progress.
