Korea University Anam Hospital said on the 19th that Colorectal Surgery Professor Kim Jin has taken office as the ninth chair of the Korean Society of Endoscopic and Robotic Surgery (KSERS). The term is two years, through April 2028.
The Korean Society of Endoscopic and Robotic Surgery is a professional surgical academic group that has led academic research, education, and technique development in endoscopic/laparoscopic and robotic surgery in Korea. Professor Kim Jin is an authority in colorectal diseases, including colon and rectal cancer, and has been active in clinical practice and research in minimally invasive surgery using laparoscopy and robotic surgery.
In particular, Kim has also worked to develop personalized treatments that consider preserving patients' physical function after cancer surgery and improving quality of life. Kim has demonstrated colon cancer surgeries as live surgery for medical staff in Korea and abroad, sharing the latest surgical techniques and clinical experience.
Chair Kim said, "The fields of endoscopic/laparoscopic and robotic surgery are undergoing a rapid paradigm shift through integration with AI and advanced technologies," and added, "We will build an academic environment where society members can actively share the latest knowledge and experience and grow together, enhancing the society's expertise and contributing to the development of minimally invasive surgery in Korea."
