Huons(243070) group's aesthetic corporations Humedix set a record for the highest quarterly sales, boosted by robust performance in the aesthetic business.
Humedix(200670) said on Aug. 14 that standalone sales in the second quarter were 50.4 billion won, up 17% from a year earlier. Over the same period, operating profit rose 8% to 11.7 billion won. Both sales and operating profit were the highest on a quarterly basis.
Sales growth was driven by strong sales of the extracellular matrix (ECM)-based skin booster "Elravie Re2O" and increased orders for single-use eye drops. Elravie Re2O is a product developed by L&C BIO(290650), and Humedix handles domestic distribution and sales.
Net profit, however, fell 69% to 2.4 billion won. The decline reflected valuation losses on financial assets.
Humedix plans to extend its growth in the second half by expanding its aesthetic product lineup. It will increase clients for Re2O and "Re2O Fine," and diversify its lineup with the filler product "Elravie," as well as medical devices and wound dressings. The composite filler "BELPN," which combines polynucleotide (PN) and hyaluronic acid (HA), is aimed for launch within the year.
In the prescription drug segment, the company plans to expand export destinations to Russia, the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), and Southeast Asia, starting with exports of its osteoarthritis injectable to Brazil.
Humedix decided at a board meeting on the 11th to pay a second-quarter dividend of 200 won per share. The record date for the dividends is the 31st.
