Topic-by-topic discussions have begun to establish the National Graduate School of Medicine (National Medical School). The Ministry of Health and Welfare will form a panel of experts to review the location and curriculum of the National Medical School and begin concrete work to set it up.
The Ministry of Health and Welfare said on the 13th that it held the second meeting of the committee preparing to establish the National Medical School and discussed a plan to form expert panels.
Based on the first meeting held on the 3rd on the ِlast month, the preparatory committee decided to form expert panels in four areas: ▲ infrastructure ▲ curriculum ▲ operating system ▲ mandatory service. Each panel will include outside experts in each field and officials from relevant ministries.
Among these, the ministry will first form the infrastructure and curriculum expert panels. The infrastructure panel will review the location of the National Medical School and its design and construction plans, while the curriculum panel will review preparations for accreditation of medical education and a curriculum specialized in public health care.
After discussions by the expert panels, the ministry plans to decide the location of the National Medical School. An advance notice of legislation for the enforcement decree and enforcement rules containing operational details is underway from on the 21st on the last month to on the 31st on the next month.
The National Medical School is aiming to open in 2029 and start its curriculum in 2030.
