CLASSYS(214150) said on the 12th that, on a consolidation basis, operating profit in the second quarter was 43.9 billion won, up 2.2% from the same period a year earlier, according to preliminary figures. Revenue for the same period rose 26.7% to 105.5 billion won, surpassing 100 billion won in quarterly sales for the first time since the company's founding.
The results were driven by balanced growth in major global markets and the contribution of consolidated results from the South America subsidiary. In particular, strong growth in key overseas markets such as Europe, North America, and Thailand continued, expanding the global business base.
Global equipment sales, which underpin recurring revenue, are also steadily increasing. With equipment sales rising evenly across key regions including North America, Europe, Central and South America, the Middle East, and Asia, cumulative global equipment shipments increased to about 48,000 units as of the end of June.
By product, Ultraformer (domestic name Shurink), the flagship high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) device, led growth by posting the highest-ever quarterly global revenue. Volnewmer, a monopolar radio frequency (MRF) device, also maintained strong sales. Expanded sales of the new Quadse and increased laser demand in Europe also supported performance.
The consumables business also maintained its growth trend. In particular, overseas consumables revenue increased 32.6% year over year on the back of the expanded equipment sales base.
Profitability also remained high. On a headquarters basis, the second-quarter operating margin exceeded 50%. However, on a consolidation basis, operating costs incurred during the expansion of overseas operations—such as the transition to direct operations in South America and Japan—were reflected. The company plans to continue investing to support a recovery in local sales and accelerate growth.
The management system to support the global growth strategy was also strengthened. CLASSYS recently appointed Yoon Jun-oh, formerly of Samsung Electronics, as chief executive officer (CEO) and Kim Taek-soo as chief technology officer (CTO). Based on their experience in global business operations and strategy and in innovative technologies, the company plans to upgrade its business portfolio and strengthen its global expansion capabilities.
A CLASSYS official said, "In the second quarter, we surpassed 100 billion won in quarterly sales for the first time, supported by growth in major global markets and the expansion of our business scope," and added, "In the second half, while continuing our global growth, we will strengthen domestic package promotions and B2B/B2C marketing in Central and South America, and, based on the transition to direct sales in Japan and the new management team, enhance our global business competitiveness and our mid- to long-term growth foundation."
