Coreline Soft(384470) said on the 11th that it will build an artificial intelligence (AI) reading system based on chest computed tomography (CT) with INFINITE North America (INA) and St. Joseph's Health, a general hospital in Paterson, New Jersey.
This project is the second joint deployment by Coreline Soft and INA in North America. Earlier, the two applied Coreline Soft's AI chest diagnostics platform "AVIEW" to ImageCare Radiology, a U.S. radiology group. This time, they expanded the application of the AI reading system from a radiology group to a general hospital.
At St. Joseph's Health, AVIEW will first be applied to chest CT scans of people eligible for lung cancer screening. AVIEW analyzes key findings such as pulmonary nodules in CT images and provides quantitative information including size, volume, and location. It also supports a function that compares past and current images to check changes in the size and shape of pulmonary nodules.
The AI is linked to the medical imaging reading system used by St. Joseph's Health. When CT images are uploaded to the system, the AI automatically analyzes them, and clinicians can view the AI analysis results directly on their existing reading screen without launching a separate program or switching screens.
Coreline Soft and INA previously built the AI reading system for ImageCare Radiology in the same way. At that time, too, when CT images were transmitted, the AI automatically analyzed them and the results were integrated to display on the existing reading screen.
This time, they expanded the application from a radiology group to a general hospital. Because St. Joseph's Health is a general hospital that provides inpatient, outpatient, and emergency care, the AI reading system can be applied across varied care settings, which makes a difference.
In North America, hospitals differ in their medical imaging systems and security environments, making it difficult to apply AI to actual care by supplying the technology alone. It is important to integrate stably with existing systems and build it so clinicians can use it without extra steps.
INA, a corporations that has supplied medical imaging systems to North American hospitals and imaging centers, took on the role of integrating St. Joseph's Health's existing systems with AVIEW in this project. Coreline Soft will provide the AI analysis technology and plans to expand supply of the AI reading system to North American medical institutions.
