The Health Insurance Review & Assessment Service (HIRA) said on the 11th it will appoint Kim Ae-ryeon, current head of the Automobile Insurance Review Center, as the new executive director for review and assessment.
Kim will begin work on the 12th. The term is two years, through Aug. 11, 2028. Reappointment is possible in one-year increments based on job performance.
Kim joined HIRA in 1995 and worked for about 31 years. Kim served as head of evaluation operations, head of the southern Gyeonggi regional office, head of pharmaceutical management, and head of the Automobile Insurance Review Center.
Kim graduated from the nursing department at Kyungpook National University and earned a master's degree in nursing at the same university. Kim completed a master's program in health policy and management at Seoul National University.
HIRA said Kim was evaluated as the right person to lead review and assessment work, based on experience and expertise accumulated in the fields of review and evaluation.
