Huons(243070) Group Humedix(200670) is expanding its wound dressing "Arche (ARCHE)" business and strengthening its supply system. Following exclusive domestic distribution, it has taken on finished goods manufacturing to broaden its business scope, and it is also pursuing academic activities for medical professionals and expanding overseas distribution networks.
Humedix said on the 6th that after signing an exclusive domestic distribution agreement for Arche with Doeum Co. in February, it recently entered into an "Arche manufacturing consignment agreement."
Under this agreement, Doeum will focus on the development and production of the key raw material, low-molecular-weight water-soluble chitosan (ISC), and on overseas exports, while Humedix will handle finished goods manufacturing and domestic sales and marketing. The two companies plan to build a supply system that spans from raw material development to production and distribution to enhance market responsiveness.
Arche is an adhesive, transparent wound dressing based on low-molecular-weight water-soluble chitosan developed in-house by Doeum. It features a low molecular weight of 500 Da or less on average and the application of an enzymatic hydrolysis process. It can be used to protect areas where the skin barrier is damaged, such as first-degree burns or dry skin. The company said clinical studies also confirmed potential for antibacterial, antifungal, anti-inflammatory effects, wound healing, and scalp care.
Humedix is also expanding academic activities for medical professionals. At the "Arche hands-on seminar" held in Busan in May and the "HART IN DAEGU" symposium in July, product introductions and clinical application cases were presented. The sessions also introduced the potential for application in the scalp improvement field, along with uses as a wound dressing.
The company is also pushing to expand into overseas markets. Doeum has signed distribution agreements with 18 countries, including Japan, Brazil, Russia, Saudi Arabia, and the Philippines, and is expanding its distribution network to North America, including the United States and Canada, and to Latin American countries including Mexico. It is also proceeding with certification under the European medical device regulation (CE MDR) to enter the European market.
The two companies are also continuing to participate in overseas academic conferences. Doeum operated an exhibition booth and gave academic presentations related to Arche at "AMWC Monaco 2026" and the "WCHR 2026." It is continuing related presentations at overseas academic conferences such as "IMCAS Americas and Asia."
They are also taking part in academic events in countries including the Philippines, Russia, Malaysia, and Japan, giving academic presentations to local medical professionals.
Park Cheol-woo, CEO of Doeum, said, "Through collaboration with Humedix, we will expand our push into the global wound dressing and skin and scalp care markets based on ISC raw material technology."
Kang Min-jong, CEO of Humedix, said, "Taking this consignment agreement as a starting point, we will foster Arche as a core business that encompasses manufacturing and sales, and we will focus on expanding the domestic market and growing our global business."
