Medical robotics corporations MEDISBY was selected as the lead organization for the "2026 bio and medical technology commercialization support project" being promoted by the Seoul Metropolitan Government and the Seoul Business Agency (SBA).
MEDISBY said on the 5th that, with this selection, it will receive a total project budget of 400 million won over the next 24 months to build the foundation for commercializing the collaborative-robot-based rehabilitation platform "ROBOARM."
This project supports improving the completeness of medical robotics technology and commercializing it for application in real clinical settings. MEDISBY plans to form a consortium with its joint R&D institution Gangnam Severance Hospital to develop surgery patient–tailored rehabilitation protocols.
Roboarm is a next-generation medical robotics platform that precisely supports joint mobilization. It aims to compensate for the limitations of existing rehabilitation medical devices in implementing diverse joint movements and controlling the full range of motion (Full-ROM), and to provide rehabilitation therapy tailored to patient conditions through collaborative-robot-based precision control technology.
Chief Executive Officer Lim Jun-yeol of MEDISBY said, "Some existing medical devices had limitations in implementing and controlling diverse joint movements and the full range of motion (Full-ROM)," and added, "MEDISBY aims to build a medical robotics platform that can consistently provide treatment optimized for patient conditions based on precision control technology."
Previously, MEDISBY was selected for NVIDIA's global startup support program "NVIDIA Inception" and is receiving technical support. Recently, it was also selected for the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy's "rapid commercialization support project for AI application products" and is pursuing advancement of Roboarm technology. Since its founding, the combined total of accumulated investment and government support stands at about 6 billion won.
