Donga Ecopack, the packaging and beverage production affiliate of the Dong-A Socio Group, has built an integrated production system that covers not only glass bottles, plastic containers, caps, and paper packaging, but also the production of finished goods of bottled water and beverages. Since its launch after the merger of Suseok and Dongcheonsu last year, the strategy has been to combine packaging and beverage production functions into one to provide client companies with a "one-stop total solution."
According to Donga Ecopack on the 31st, the company produces glass bottles in various sizes from 20㎖ to 120㎖, and applied a smart factory system to its new Dangjin plant completed last year. It operates a recycling process that reuses cullet generated during production as raw material, and has also introduced an oxygen furnace.
In the cap business, it produces aluminum caps used for pharmaceuticals and health drinks, as well as plastic caps for bottled water and carbonated beverages. It supplies customized specifications tailored to product characteristics and operates an automated production system based on Food Safety System Certification (FSSC 22000).
In the packaging institutional sector, it directly produces folding cartons, corrugated boxes, labels, and inserts.
At the Sangju plant, it produces bottled water, carbonated water, and mixed beverages. The plant has obtained Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) and FSSC 22000 certifications, and for bottled water uses raw groundwater drawn from bedrock aquifers around Songnisan and Gayasan national parks, the company said.
