HanAll Biopharma(009420) said on the 29th that second-quarter consolidation revenue this year was 44.3 billion won, with operating profit of 5.6 billion won. They rose 9% and 389%, respectively, from the same period last year. However, due to an impairment loss on development asset, it posted a net loss of 19.2 billion won.
Cumulative revenue for the first half of this year was 84.3 billion won, and operating profit was 6.4 billion won. They increased 10% and 757%, respectively, from the same period last year. The probiotic drug Biotop and the antibiotic Normix led the improvement, logging first-half revenue of 14.8 billion won and 10 billion won. The company also said prescriptions are rising for Eligard, a treatment for prostate cancer and central precocious puberty.
The company plans to announce topline results from a phase 2 trial of imeropruvate, a candidate treatment for autoimmune diseases, in the second half of this year. It is developing the drug so it can be prescribed to patients with refractory rheumatoid arthritis and cutaneous lupus erythematosus.
Rheumatoid arthritis occurs when the body's immune system attacks the synovium surrounding joints, causing inflammation and pain. Lupus is a disease marked by skin inflammation. A HanAll Biopharma official said, "We will continue our business based on our research achievements."
