Curocell(372320) began joint development to enter the Türkiye market with the CAR-T Therapy "Limcato (ingredient name anbalcaptagene autoleucel)." The goal is to conduct clinical trials and regulatory procedures with a local partner and obtain product approval next year.
Curocell said on the 29th that it expanded a strategic partnership with Biruni Group and began full-fledged cooperation for the local development and commercialization of Limcato in Türkiye.
The two sides signed a consulting agreement in Oct. last year to build CAR-T manufacturing infrastructure in Türkiye. Based on this, Biruni recently completed Türkiye's first commercial CAR-T production facility and is currently proceeding with GMP (good manufacturing practice) certification.
Using this production facility, the two sides plan to seek local product approval for Limcato next year. Biruni will invest funds needed for local clinical trials and approval, and Curocell will provide CAR-T development technology and GMP manufacturing and quality control know-how, dividing roles accordingly.
Biruni Group is a healthcare corporations in Türkiye that operates Biruni University and its university hospital, as well as Biruni Cell Therapy, a cell therapy affiliate.
