Dong-A Socio Group has built its own new drug development platform using artificial intelligence (AI). It plans to integrate the entire new drug research process—from candidate design to protein binding prediction and research data management—into a single platform, reduce reliance on external solutions, and accumulate research data as a group asset.
Dong-A Socio Group IT affiliate DAI and Dong-A ST(170900) said on the 29th that they have built and begun operating an intelligent new drug development platform that combines AI with bio data, called "AIDDP (AI Drug Discovery Platform)."
AIDDP's main functions include visualization of bio data based on single-cell and spatial transcriptomics, AI-based design of new compounds, prediction of binding affinity between candidates and target proteins, docking and molecular dynamics simulations, and integrated management of research projects, analysis results, and computational histories.
Dong-A Socio Group plans to accumulate data and analysis results generated during research on the platform to continuously advance its AI models. Through this, it aims to lower dependence on external AI solutions and strengthen the foundation for securing proprietary new drug development technologies and intellectual property (IP).
It plans to expand it into a common AI research and development (R&D) platform that can be used in other research areas and affiliates within the group in the future. It will add functions for candidate discovery through large-scale virtual screening of compounds and AI-based paper and patent search, and will also apply agentic AI functions in stages to support researchers' exploration, analysis, and decision-making.
