Hanmi Pharmaceutical(128940) said on the 21st that it has introduced an "e-label (electronic label)" service that provides drug package inserts via QR codes instead of paper.
The e-label is a service that lets users scan a QR code inserted in the product package with a smartphone to check the latest drug information, including indications and effects, dosage and administration, and precautions for use.
The company first applied it to five items, including Ubactam injection 750 mg and Triaxone injection 2 g, and plans to expand the scope in consultation with the Ministery of Food and Drug Safety.
The service applies four-step font size adjustment, keyword search, tabbed sections by item, and PDF save/print functions to improve information accessibility and user convenience.
The company expected it would reduce inefficiencies from having to discard and reprint paper leaflets when approved information changes and contribute to ESG management by cutting paper use.
Ham Yun-su, head of the design group at Hanmi Science communications office, said, "The e-label is a service that improves information accessibility so drug information can be checked more easily and conveniently," and added, "We will continue to advance our digital-based information delivery system."
