Hugel(145020) said on the 20th that it released "The Chaeum Signature," a new hyaluronic acid (HA) filler that reduces the use of crosslinking agents.
The Chaeum Signature comes in four types with different rheological properties so users can choose based on the treatment area and purpose.
HA fillers undergo a crosslinking process to keep hyaluronic acid in a stable gel form. Hugel said it applied its affiliate Acros' MPC (Multi Purified Crosslinking) method to cut the amount of crosslinker used by more than 50% compared with existing manufacturing processes. The company said it maintained the physical properties and longevity of existing products by using a process that employs high-concentration HA raw material.
It added that a roughly two-week multi-purification process reduced residual crosslinker (BDDE) and byproduct (BDPE) that can be generated during crosslinking.
