Hanmi Pharmaceutical(128940) said on the 16th that it successfully wrapped up the open innovation event "Hanmi × Kiwoom Bio Innovation Day," co-hosted with Kiwoom Securities(039490), at Hanmi C&C Square in Songpa District, Seoul, on the 15th.
About 80 people from the pharmaceutical and biotech sector, including promising domestic biotech startups, venture capital (VC), private equity (PE), securities firms, and strategic investors (SI), attended to share promising technologies and market potential and to explore investment and business cooperation plans. The event was moderated by Heo Hye-min, a researcher at Kiwoom Securities, which co-hosted the event.

Each company introduced a range of core technologies, including new drugs for chronic and brain diseases, an artificial intelligence (AI)-based drug discovery platform, and digital medical devices, as well as their pipelines and commercialization strategies. One-on-one meetings between participating companies and investors were held in the morning and afternoon before and after the presentations.
Hanmi Pharmaceutical plans to develop this event into an open innovation platform in the pharmaceutical and biotech field that continuously connects promising biotech startups and investors.
In the opening remarks, CEO Hwang Sang-yeon said, "The competitiveness of the bio industry can be strengthened when the creative ideas of biotech startups and academia, the pharmaceutical industry's research and development (R&D), and commercialization capabilities are organically connected," and added, "Since attracting investment is an important task for the sustained growth of biotech startups, we hope this event creates touchpoints of trust between corporations and investors, builds cooperative relationships, and leads to follow-up discussions."
