Bio corporations D&D Pharmatech(347850) said on the 14th that the size of its research service contract related to the development of an oral peptide obesity treatment formulation signed with U.S. drugmaker Pfizer was expanded.
The company said in a corrected filing that the contract amount was changed from 1.83266 billion won to 2.52657 billion won.
This was due to Pfizer's additional orders, increasing the size by 693.90 million won (37.8%) compared with the original contract. The contract scope was also changed from "oral peptide dual agonist (obesity treatment) formulation development research services" to "oral peptide obesity treatment formulation development research services."
The contract period was extended from Nov. 30 this year to Feb. 29, 2028. There is no down payment or advance; payment is due within 90 days after completion of each research service item. The size of this contract is equivalent to 58.79% of D&D Pharmatech's 2025 sales on a consolidation basis (4.2976 billion won).
D&D Pharmatech is taking on the development of an oral version of a GLP-1 class obesity treatment, based on a platform technology that delivers peptide drugs, which are hard to absorb in the body, in a pill form.
Earlier, in 2023, it transferred technology related to a peptide-based drug delivery platform and candidate substances to U.S. biotech Metsera. It then expanded the scope of cooperation with Metsera through additional technology exports, and Metsera was acquired by Pfizer in 2025.
