Yuhan said on the 8th that it operates an animal experiment ethics committee made up of five veterinarians. When developing a new drug, it is common to repeatedly administer a compound to animals to confirm its efficacy. The company said it respects bioethics from animal testing through clinical trials in humans.
Yuhan has built a safety system for the clinical trial process. All trials are approved by domestic and overseas regulators and an institutional review board. It drafts study protocols in line with guidelines from the International Council for Harmonisation of Technical Requirements for Pharmaceuticals for Human Use (ICH).
Adverse reactions can occur during clinical trials in which patients are administered a drug. The company works with investigators to monitor continuously and review data regularly. If an adverse reaction occurs, it promptly reports it to regulators and provides necessary treatment.
