Humedix said on the 19th that it plans to launch its hyaluronic acid filler Leporia HARA-L in China in the fourth quarter of this year. Hyaluronic acid is a substance that softens the skin and has a moisture-retaining effect. The method involves injecting it under the skin to smooth wrinkles.
This filler is made with the same sterile raw material used for injectables and eye drops. It recently received medical device approval from China's National Medical Products Administration. Partner Xiangli Aesthetic is expected to handle local distribution.
According to the industry, last year China's aesthetic medical market was estimated at 370.1 billion yuan (83 trillion won). China has a large population, and demand for K-beauty is growing among younger people.
Kang Min-jong, Humedix's CEO, said the company "plans to expand its influence in overseas markets."
