Celltrion Pharm said on the 16th that it took part in The Liver Week in Seoul and held academic lectures on the progressive liver cancer and metastatic colorectal cancer treatment Vegzelma (ingredient bevacizumab) and the hepatopathy drug Godex (a combination of ornithine aspartate and six other ingredients).
The Liver Week is an academic conference where liver disease experts from Korea and abroad share the latest research findings and treatment strategies. At the event held on the 11th to 13th, Celltrion Pharm presented the clinical value of Vegzelma and Godex and real-world treatment experience.
Vegzelma is a biosimilar of Roche's anticancer drug Avastin from Switzerland and is used to treat metastatic colorectal cancer, epithelial ovarian cancer, primary peritoneal cancer and cervical cancer. In particular, with the 2022 revision of the Health Insurance Review & Assessment Service (HIRA) reimbursement criteria recognizing combination therapy with the immuno-oncology drug atezolizumab, it is being used as a key option in hepatocellular carcinoma treatment.
At the Vegzelma luncheon symposium held on the 12th, a lecture was given on the theme "Vegzelma and Celltrion biosimilars." Kyungpook National University School of Medicine professor Tak Won-young served as chair, and Ulsan University College of Medicine professor Jeong Sung-won spoke as presenter, explaining the concept and advantages of biosimilars and introducing Vegzelma's clinical results and cases of application in liver cancer treatment settings.
At the Godex breakfast forum held the same day, Soonchunhyang University College of Medicine professor Jang Jae-young served as chair, and Chung-Ang University College of Medicine professor Lee Han-ah participated as presenter. Lee presented on "Clinical evidence for carnitine and its hepatoprotective effects," sharing changes in the liver disease treatment environment and real-world experiences using Godex in clinical practice.
