An integrated login site that lets users view and access major sites frequently used in national research and development (R&D) processes in one place will be operated.
The Ministry of Science and ICT said it will operate "Research 24," an integrated login site that links 10 R&D activity support systems run by six institutions, starting on the 15th. The site can be accessed via the English domain "www.rnd24.go.kr" and the Korean domain "연구24.한국."
Until now, researchers had to access each of several national R&D sites needed during the research and development process—such as for project management and performance registration—and log in with separate IDs and passwords. Research 24 connects these sites with a single sign-on method, allowing users to access the linked sites without additional authentication once they log in.
After accessing Research 24, users can log in using simple authentication, a joint certificate, a financial certificate, a mobile ID, or private IDs such as Naver, Kakao, and Payco. On the next screen, users can view a list of 10 national R&D sites and select the desired site, which opens in a new window.
However, to use the integrated login, users must have already registered as members of each site. Research 24 works by linking the login information of the visitor with the registration information of each site.
The Ministry of Science and ICT said the site's operation was pursued as part of improving researcher-centered research support systems. It added that it will continue to expand the linkage of project information and pursue the integration of dispersed research support systems.
