Neurophet said on the 9th that it signed a supply contract for its software "Neurophet AQUA AD" that monitors prescriptions, treatment effectiveness, and side effects of dementia drugs with four tertiary general hospitals in Korea, including Seoul National University Hospital.
Neurophet supplied Neurophet AQUA AD to Seoul National University Hospital, Korea University Guro Hospital, Korea University Anam Hospital, and Chungnam National University Hospital. The company said it plans to accelerate expansion of product supply centered on domestic tertiary general hospitals with this contract as a starting point.
Neurophet AQUA AD is software that quantitatively analyzes magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and positron emission tomography (PET) scans to precisely evaluate brain status before and after administration of anti-amyloid antibody therapies. Before administration, it assesses whether a patient is eligible for a prescription; during administration, it monitors treatment-related side effects; and after administration, it analyzes treatment effectiveness.
As the introduction in Korea of the Alzheimer's disease treatments "Leqembi (ingredient name lecanemab)" and "Kisunla (donanemab)" has gathered pace recently, related demand is also increasing. For these treatments, imaging-based side-effect monitoring—such as for brain edema or microhemorrhages—is essential during administration. Accordingly, medical institutions are showing growing interest in Neurophet AQUA AD, which can analyze related brain imaging biomarkers.
Bin Joon-gil, Neurophet's co-CEO, said, "By supplying Neurophet AQUA AD to major tertiary general hospitals, including Seoul National University Hospital, we are proving the product's competitiveness in imaging analysis for prescribing Alzheimer's disease treatments," and added, "Based on this, we will expand supply across medical institutions in Korea."
