Yun Woong-seop, chair of Ildong Pharmaceutical, joined the "youth cyber illegal gambling eradication campaign" led by the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency.
According to Ildong Pharmaceutical on the 2nd, the campaign was prepared to inform youths about the dangers of illegal cyber gambling and to prevent related crimes from spreading. It proceeds in a relay format in which figures from various sectors and opinion leaders deliver messages and then designate the next participant.
Under the slogan "illegal cyber gambling targeting youths is a crime you can never beat," the campaign stresses that illegal gambling is a quintessential scam crime designed in a structure that makes it difficult for ordinary people to earn revenue.
Ildong Pharmaceutical said it joined the campaign to help youths grow up in a safe environment, in line with the corporations philosophy of contributing to people's health and a happy life.
Yun joined the campaign after being designated by Jeon Chan-min, CEO of FarmCle, a bioside specialist company. Ildong Pharmaceutical and FarmCle have maintained a cooperative relationship since 2012 in pest control, hygiene management, and healthcare businesses.
Yun said, "Illegal cyber gambling is a very serious crime that can upend daily life and values," adding, "Society as a whole must join forces in prevention and eradication so that youths do not fall into temptation and can grow up healthy."
Yun added, "Protecting youths is a shared task that cannot be solved by the efforts of a single institution or individual," and "I hope this campaign will highlight the seriousness of illegal cyber gambling and serve as an opportunity to expand participation by members of society."
Ildong Pharmaceutical plans to continue to pay sustained attention to youth issues and carry out social responsibility activities to create a sound growth environment.
Meanwhile, Yun designated Cho Jin-hwan, president of the Korean Movement Disorder Society (KMDS) and a neurology professor at Samsung Medical Center, as the next participant in the campaign.
