The Ministry of Health and Welfare said on the 28th that it will strengthen senior health management at public health centers in a super-aged society. It will detect frailty early and provide tailored management in exercise, nutrition, and oral health.
The ministry selected 10 institutions to participate in a pilot project to prevent and manage frailty at public health centers. Three are urban type, three are rural and fishing village type, and four are urban-rural mixed type. The selected institutions will support health management, small-group activities, and self-help meetings for seniors 65 and older.
The ministry will review this year's operating results, prepare a standard model, and push for a phased nationwide rollout. It also plans to build a digital health management foundation using artificial intelligence (AI).
Kim Han-suk, director general of health policy at the ministry, said, "Seniors can continue healthy lives where they have lived," adding, "We will strengthen prevention and management systems at public health centers."
