Dongwha Pharm said on the 26th that it has hired Director Song U-ryul as the new head of research.
Director Song U-ryul is a research and development (R&D) expert with extensive experience in pharmaceutical research and development and capabilities in managing research organizations. Dongwha Pharm plans to use this hire to strengthen the expertise of its research organization and enhance competitiveness in product development.
Song graduated from Konkuk University with a degree in applied chemistry in 2005 and earned a master's in chemistry from Yonsei University in 2007. In 2025, Song received a doctorate in applied pharmacy from Chungbuk National University.
Song entered the pharmaceutical research and development field in 2007 as a researcher at the formulation research lab of Kyungdong Pharm. Song went on to serve as head of the improved new drug team at the new product research lab of Kyungdong Pharm, Head of Team of Formulation Team 1 at the R&D Center's formulation research department, and senior Head of Team at the formulation research department, building experience in developing various dosage forms and commercializing products.
In 2021, Song joined Yuyu Pharma and took charge as Head of Team of Formulation Research Team 1, and from 2025 served as Deputy Minister of the product research office, leading overall product research.
A Dongwha Pharm official said, "Head of research Song U-ryul is a talent with extensive research and development experience and research expertise," adding, "Dongwha Pharm plans to use this hire to strengthen research and development capabilities and expand the development of products with market competitiveness."
