Samsung Bioepis said on the 29th that it signed a memorandum of understanding with China's "Atlatl Innovation Center" for an open-innovation project. The goal is to collaborate with bio venture corporations on research and development.
Atlatl Innovation Center is a growth support organization that helps technology innovation and commercialization by bio venture corporations. It operates shared laboratories and office space in Beijing and Shanghai in China, as well as in Singapore and Australia.
Samsung Bioepis will select promising corporations and support their move into the Atlatl Innovation Center and their research. Through this, the company plans to secure next-generation bio technology early.
A Samsung Bioepis official said, "This is the first case of pursuing a project with an overseas open-innovation specialized institution," adding, "Bio technology requires cooperation on a global scale."
