The Ministery of Food and Drug Safety said on Apr. 9 it held a meeting with medical device companies to prevent instability in the supply of syringes and other items due to the Middle East war.
This meeting was held with 15 medical device retailers, including online malls. The Ministery of Food and Drug Safety identified the supply and demand situation for medical devices such as syringes and needles and listened to on-site difficulties. They exchanged views on establishing a hotline for communication between the government and retailers.
The Ministery of Food and Drug Safety asked for cooperation to ensure that medical devices are evenly supplied not only offline but also online. Kim Myeong-ho, Director General of the Ministery of Food and Drug Safety's Medical Device Safety Bureau, said, "We will manage the supply and demand situation."
