Samsung Bioepis said on the 8th that it will provide artificial intelligence (AI) training for all employees. It plans to use AI not only as a work assistant but also to strengthen competitiveness in its bio business.
Samsung Bioepis will set up an AI training space called "AI Academy" at its Songdo office in Incheon. About 1,000 employees will each receive at least seven hours of training from this month through July. They will learn how to design AI models and automate tasks for each job function, from theory to hands-on practice.
Samsung Bioepis will form a task force (TF) led by its dedicated AI team. It plans to develop AI tailored to each department and team. In addition, the company said it will work with external partners to use AI to discover new drug candidates and shorten drug development timelines.
A Samsung Bioepis official said, "In the bio industry, AI is the key that determines global competitiveness," adding, "We will ensure that improving employee capabilities leads to stronger competitiveness for the company."
