Koo Ja-yong, chairman of E1, took office on the 19th as the 21st chairman of the Korea Invention Promotion Association (KIPA). He expressed his ambition to help strengthen intellectual property competitiveness and revitalize the invention ecosystem based on the extensive management experience he has accumulated in industrial sites.
Koo said at the inauguration ceremony held that day at the Korea Intellectual Property Center in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, "On the front lines of corporations, I have directly experienced the process in which good ideas develop into new technologies, and that in turn leads to national competitiveness." He added, "Based on about 47 years of corporate management know-how, I will actively communicate with the field and be a solid partner so that the association's executives and employees can fully demonstrate their capabilities."
The Korea Invention Promotion Association (KIPA) is a public institution specializing in intellectual property established in 1973. It has carried out a wide range of programs, from invention education to enhancing corporations' intellectual property capabilities, supporting startups, and intellectual property finance, underpinning the domestic invention and patent ecosystem.
