The Association of Private University Medical Centers said that at the general meeting held on the 25th, Yoon Eul-sik, executive vice president for medical affairs at Korea University and head of the university medical center, was elected the new chair of the Association of Private University Medical Centers.
The Association of Private University Medical Centers is a council formed to promote the development and cooperation of private university medical centers in Korea, carrying out policy proposals, joint responses to common issues, and academic and management exchange activities.
Chair Yoon is an expert in breast reconstruction, lymphedema, and fat plastic surgery, and has served as president of the Korean Association of Private University Hospitals, chair of the Korean Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, president of the Korean Society of Aesthetic and Reconstructive Breast Surgery, and president of the Association of Korean Teaching Hospitals.
Yoon said, "At a time when public expectations are high for the treatment of serious intractable diseases and for essential and local medical care, I feel a heavy sense of responsibility to represent private university medical centers," adding, "Through close communication and policy recommendations, I will contribute to improving public health and lead the sustainable development of private university medical centers."
